Diploma in counselling
I’m Chris, a counsellor who knows firsthand what it’s like to live in survival mode—wondering where your sense of self went, feeling stuck, maybe even on the edge of despair. The first thing I’d like you to know is you’re not broken, and you’re definitely not alone. There is nothing wrong with you. Sometimes things happen to us, and we end up here, searching for a way through. That’s where I come in.
I bring my lived experience with complex trauma and chronic pain into the room—not to make it about me, but to offer a space where you’re truly seen, without judgment. I believe the opposite of trauma isn’t happiness—it’s peace. Peace to me means feeling safe, and being able to return to that safety faster when life has other ideas.
In my own journey through individual and couples therapy (yep, counsellors too), I’ve learned to sit with tough emotions, feel them fully, and let them pass. I’ve learned how to be vulnerable, how to look inward, and how to care for myself—not perfectly, but honestly.
So, if you’re tired of feeling like you’re stuck in a loop, or if you’re worn down by pain, anger, relationships, trauma, work, stress, self-doubt or perhaps you want to increase your emotional literacy or find more peace in your life, let’s figure things out together. I believe you already have the map—I’ll just ride shotgun and read it while you drive.
Outside of the counselling room, I’m a dad, a husband, a dog lover, a Dungeons & Dragons nerd, I’m someone who was sick of cooking, but I’m recovering and I’m someone who’s always learning (currently studying relationship counselling after a diploma of counselling). Last of all, I did not become a counsellor to help others, though I may have thought that at the beginning, I became one to help myself and along the way, I realised, of course, that this is the only way we can really help anyone anyway. It starts with us and it ends with us.
The ball’s in your court. I’m here when you’re ready.

Navigating life with unique challenges often requires specialised support. Mental therapy and counselling are crucial in providing NDIS participants with the tools and strategies needed to manage emotions, build resilience, and foster a positive outlook on life.
