Liz is a dedicated educator and advocate for holistic learning, with a diverse background spanning over three decades. Born with a passion for teaching, Liz embarked on her academic journey at the University of South Australia, where she earned her Bachelor of Teaching (Primary). Armed with a solid foundation in education, she sought to deepen her understanding of the intersection between theology and pedagogy, obtaining a Graduate Diploma of Theology in Education from Lutheran Teachers College in 1994.
Throughout her career, Liz has demonstrated a commitment to continuous personal and professional development. In 2021, she further expanded her skill set by completing an Undergraduate Certificate in Lifestyle Coaching from Endeavour College of Natural Health, reflecting her belief in the importance of nurturing both the mind and body in the learning process.
Recognizing the importance of individualized support for students with diverse learning needs, Liz has pursued continued training in special education. She has completed online courses in managing behaviour, dyslexia, and autistic spectrum disorders, equipping her with the knowledge and tools to create inclusive learning environments where every child can thrive.
In addition to her work in education, Liz has taken on leadership roles in various capacities, one of these being teaching teachers at the University of South Australia.
Liz’s commitment to lifelong learning is evident in her extensive list of certifications and professional development activities. From food safety and diabetes training to Aboriginal cultural studies and literacy workshops, she continuously seeks out opportunities to expand her knowledge and enhance her teaching practice.
Beyond her professional endeavours, Liz is deeply engaged in promoting well-being and mindfulness. She is a meditation teacher and incorporates practices such as restorative techniques and stress management into her educational approach, recognizing the interconnectedness of mental and academic flourishing.
Liz is a passionate educator, lifelong learner, and advocate for inclusive education. Her diverse skill set, combined with her unwavering dedication to student success, makes her a valuable asset to the communities she serves.
